What types of media requests do you typically handle?
We handle a wide range of media requests, including interviews with our executive team or outreach specialists, details about our services or events, event participation, expert insights on Public Health in Texas, and insights into our organization's initiatives.
What is the process for requesting an interview or statement?
To request an interview or statement, please email our Marketing Department at marketing@itstimetexas.org with the subject line "Media Inquiry." Please include the following information: your name, the name of your media organization, the topic or purpose of the interview, preferred interview format (e.g., in-person, virtual, phone, or email), and any specific deadlines. We will make every effort to accommodate your request and provide a timely response.
Are there any specific guidelines or criteria for media interviews?
We have certain guidelines and criteria for media interviews to ensure the best possible engagement. These may include the subject matter being covered, target audience alignment, and relevance to our organization's mission. Our Marketing Department will work closely with you to determine the suitability and logistics of the interview.
How far in advance should I submit a media request?
While advanced notice is appreciated, we will do our best to accommodate all requests based on availability, urgency, and alignment to our mission. Our staff are located across the state, so we may need to coordinate based on staff location as well as a schedule's availability.
Do you provide spokespersons for media interviews?
Yes, we have designated spokespersons available for media interviews for our key regions across the state. Our Marketing Department will coordinate with you to identify the most appropriate spokesperson based on the subject matter, location, and availability. We strive to provide expert spokespersons who can provide valuable insights and perspectives related to your media request.
What are your guidelines for media attribution and usage of materials?
We kindly request that all quotes, statements, or materials obtained from our organization be properly attributed to us. When using visuals or multimedia materials, please ensure proper copyright and usage permissions are obtained. If you have any specific questions regarding attribution or usage, please contact our media relations team for clarification.
Are there any media topics or requests that you do not address?
While we endeavor to accommodate a wide range of media topics and requests, there may be certain areas that fall outside the scope of our expertise or organizational focus. For a better understanding of the topics we cover, please refer to our website's media section or consult with our Marketing Department for guidance.

Healthier Texas Summit
Registration for Healthier Texas Summit is now open. Join It’s Time Texas and The University of Texas System in Austin, October 5th and 6th as more than 700 Public Health professionals, leaders, and innovators unite to transform health in Texas by empowering action for systems change.
Sweet Summer Habits
This exciting initiative is designed to inspire and encourage school aged kids to prioritize their well-being throughout the summer months. With a focus on promoting healthy activities, providing resources, and fostering a supportive community, Sweet Summer Habits aims to make this summer the healthiest and happiest one yet!
Free Telehealth Coaching
Coaching available in English and Spanish, this free, confidential service via phone, text, and video provides support in setting health goals, establishing healthier habits, and preventing and managing chronic conditions.
SHAC Workshop
Advocating for School Health Policy through your SHACDuring this workshop, we learned about bills related to school health that are in the current Texas legislative session. We connected with fellow SHAC leaders and session participants across the state as we review these health bills and identify how they may impact school health statewide. Finally, we were introduced to new strategies to best advocate for school health policy through SHAC activities.
The Community Challenge
It’s Time Texas Community Challenge unites Texans from across the state to build a healthier Texas. This free eight-week competition challenges Texans to develop simple healthy habits like eating healthy, exercising, and staying hydrated because our everyday choices shape our health and our future. And like any good competition, it comes with prizes. Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2023 Challenge Winners and the 2024 Challenge dates!

It’s Time Texas provides a diverse set of toolkits to support organizations and communities with resources to build capacity while mobilizing efforts to implement healthy change.
Nutrition Education Videos
It’s Time Texas works to build healthier lives and healthier communities across Texas through interactive programming and educational materials. We encourage you to utilize our nutrition education videos as a resource and as personal support throughout your health journey.
Community Lab
It’s Time Texas’ Community Lab is an innovative, web-based forum providing FREE, interactive training and support to CHCs & SHACS throughout Texas. Each month, Community Lab members will have the opportunity to make social connections with peers, learn best practices from experts in the field, and receive peer-to peer feedback on their collaborative’s work.
Collaborative Innovations for Community Health
Through the generosity of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Healthy Kids, Healthy Families® grant, It’s Time Texas awarded eight sub-grants totaling $300,000 to community-based organizations who are able to mobilize and rapidly deploy resources where they are needed most within four designated areas of Texas.
Free Virtual Exercise Classes
It’s Time Texas offers free, virtual exercise and nutrition classes to all Texans and all fitness levels! Formats include Zumba, yoga, MixxedFit and more. Classes are available in English and Spanish.
The Community Challenge
