Men under 39 might not have to have PSA (Prostate Specific Antigens) blood tests or testosterone screenings but men 50 or over should regularly have these things, and more, checked! You should talk to your healthcare provider about what regular health screenings are right for you, based on age, health history, and other factors. If you have not had an annual check-up or preventative screening yet this year now is the time to schedule one — it could save your life!

Lifestyle Changes Can Make a Big Difference

Scheduling preventative care is just one lifestyle change that can have a big impact. Eating right will also improve your health. Men should eat low-fat, high fiber diets with lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. This will reduce your chances of cancer and increase heart health. Regular exercise can also help you maintain a healthy weight. Obesity has been linked to certain cancers, including prostate cancer, heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. The CDC recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise a week for substantial health benefits. However, some physical activity is better than none! Small changes that increase physical activity will result in some health benefits.
