Springdale Farm: Making Local Easier!

Springdale Farm sits on five acres of land, just east of the Capitol building in downtown Austin! The family-owned and operated urban farm grows over 75 seasonal vegetable varieties and operates a popular public farm stand every Wednesday and Saturday from 9AM-1PM. Farmers Glenn and Paula Foore are committed to providing Central Texas residents and restaurants with fresh, local food and they work every day to create a sustainable future for our community.

In September 2014, Glenn and Paula Foore also founded Springdale Center for Urban Agriculture, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote sustainable agriculture in urban areas, growing connections between people and local food systems, fostering community and teaching the art of sustainable living! These events, and Springdale market days will all be listed on the Choose Healthier app!

“We are excited to utilize the Choose Healthier App to share upcoming events on the farm, in additional to the twice weekly farm stand, like cooking classes, or yoga, or farm tours… Austin has such an amazing food community with activities going on all the time, the app will be great to show us all what’s going on around town!” -Paula Foore

Springdale Farm has received Edible Austin’s Local Hero Award in the Farm/Farmer category for four consecutive years! Our friends at Springdale will be participating in the 6th Annual East Austin Urban Farm Tour on April 12, the last day of the Community Challenge and Healthy Texas Week! What a perfect way for those of you in the Austin area to celebrate the healthiest week of the year…
