Our Choose Healthier Street Team visited Modo Yoga Austin to challenge their strength and balance with a hot yoga class. They all agreed that there is something special about this yoga studio. “Be Healthy, Be Accessible, Be Peace, Live Green, Reach Out, Live to Learn, and Community Support.” These are the Seven Pillars of Modo Yoga Austin that creates a unique experience.

The community aspect of Modo Yoga Austin welcomes new and loyal yogis alike, and encourages them to keep coming back for more. They’re also combining yoga with community outreach and environmental awareness to make this world a better place. Modo offers a variety of classes for all levels, which can be attended with a membership to the studio. Gillian recommends Modo, Modo Music, Modo Flow, Yin, Yang/Yin and Karma for those who are new to the practice. The Yin and Yang/Yin classes are more of a restorative kind of yoga which focus on meditation and getting into the connective tissue.
We asked Gillian what she likes about the Choose Healthier App. “So far, I like the fact that we can go in, and by location find affordable options nearby, and it’s always a great way of finding new things. You can do Google searches, but if you don’t do the right search, you don’t find something that’s nearby!”
