5 Tips for a Healthier Back to School, Texas Edition

*Written by our Lead Telehealth Coach, Natalie Richardson, sharing valuable insights on improving your health and wellness.

Happy back-to-school days! With school back in session, you’re probably getting the hang of the school schedule and getting back in the routine, good job! I’m here to remind you to include your health in your schedule and start the semester right. Whether you’re a parent or school staff, your kiddos are all eyes on you, and your love for your health will benefit your kids, so let’s do it!

  1. Start Your Day Right with Nutritious Breakfasts

Did you know that a balanced breakfast fuels your brain for a productive day ahead? According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, students who eat a wholesome breakfast tend to perform better academically and have improved behavior. Start your morning with a mix of whole grains, lean protein, and fruits. And if you’re in a rush, a yogurt parfait or a peanut butter banana wrap can provide the energy you need to conquer the day.

  1. Stay Active with Stronger Texas

Physical activity isn’t just for gym class; it’s a vital part of your overall well-being. Discover the joy of movement with It’s Time Texas’s Stronger Texas program.
